Big pictures must do instead of my usual verbosity as just have time for a few words. I’m only now entering into the festive swing but London has been prepared for a while so here are my image picks in the 5-day countdown to Christmas:-
Suspended from Covent Garden’s glass canopy, mammoth baubles hang reflectively over the buzz and hum of Christmas shoppers
whilst over at Somerset House, gentlemen prefer blondes whatever the seasonal attractions may be…
…muted, matt and metallic tree ornaments atomised with condensation
or the giant slug of an ice-polishing machine, leaving a mesmeric, mirrored trail across the rink. It’s a far cry from the 17th century’s harsh winter ‘Frost fairs’ but Londoners can still skate, here on the river’s foreshore.
And finally, a grainy, monochromed, camera-shy self-portrait, hidden behind festive greetings and candlelight …
…wishing all my fellow bloggers a very Happy Christmas and thank-you.
P.S. always enjoy post sharing a topical meme so will be joining Katarina@Blooming Friday for her ‘Christmas’ theme…
…and there’s a round of celebration to be had with Diana’s photo-lite meme 12 Days of Christmas

Have a very festive, joyous and healthy holiday season to you and yours. London looks all in the mood and ready for the cheer.
